Mom, who is 83 years old has been working with Jarrett for the past year and a half. Previously, she had stopped attending her community exercise classes due to COVID, and consequently lost strength in her core and legs. Additionally, she had some health issues that made her prone to losing her balance.

After working with Jarret as a personal trainer, mom’s strength and balance has improved dramatically. I have taken her on a few trips/tours now where she has walked better and had more stamina than many folks younger than her! After every trip, Jarrett will contact me to see how mom did and if there were any concerns during her travels. In 2018 I managed to have a heart attack at the age of 71. Weighing in at 235 pounds, 30% body fat, I was ready to change. I needed to save my life. Although I had been physically active at various times during my life - cycling, gym, hiking - 2018 was not one of those times. Got a Peloton indoor cycling rig and started to lose some weight. Being on blood thinners and other meds meant no risky outdoor cycling. Became vegan, and started to look around for overall strength building activities. Met Jarrett through some friends and started what has now been more than two and a half years of weekly sessions. I now consider him a friend who cares about my health and fitness, even at times when I am not my own best advocate. Today (2021) I am stronger, fit, and considering that I am now 74, weigh in at 166 pounds and 19% body fat, doing well. Jarrett has been a big part of that change and to him I am forever grateful.

Before I started training with Jarrett in Sept 2017, I had a total lack of motivation, lack of energy, not much muscle strength, challenges with balance, body flabby even though at Weight Watcher goal weight.  I could barely get myself to walk on the treadmill at the gym.
When my husband & I had our initial session, we were so pleased that he asked what OUR fitness goals were, he LISTENS!  He has taught us age-appropriate exercises (I’m 73, my hubby 80) which we really appreciate. Because it's personalized, dealing with MY goals not someone else's idea of what I should want my goals to be.  Jarrett is always checking about how I feel about what we're doing, & is very flexible & will adjust the exercise if need be.  He’s very attentive to our form & makes sure we’re doing the exercise correctly for safety & maximum benefit.
It's SO convenient to have a personal trainer come to your house, no time wasted driving to & from a gym, looking for a parking spot, etc. These appointments are the first thing on our calendar every month, & we schedule everything else around them; helps us put our health first!   He brings all the equipment needed & always plays our choice of music to work out to.
I now have more energy, stamina, strength, balance than any other time of my life, look better in my clothes, feel proud of my accomplishments & my commitment to keep it up.

When I retired after working 50 years I realized more exercise was required. And miraculously, I was driving home one day and spotted a white van, OLA Fitness. Owner Jarrett came into my life at just the right moment. He has now been part of my weekly routine for 14 months. My decision to engage Jarrett followed a number of articles that I had read about how much muscle mass we lose as we age, and the mounting evidence of the benefits of strength training as we get older.OK, so there was also the fact that my mirror kept reminding me that I was pudgier than I'd have liked to admit.However, the deciding factor was my admission to myself that I was simply not disciplined enough to stick with any training or exercise schedule on my own.Like many of my friends, I had joined gyms, gone for a while and then missed a day or two - and never gone back.When I began to work with Jarrett, I was pleased to find him to be bright, educated, knowledgeable, non-threatening and FUN!Truthfully, there are days when I think "Uh oh.  He's coming today"; but by the time the workout is over, I am always pleased with myself for having done it.I no longer have any lower back issues, have gone from 32% body fat to 25%, and trimmed 4" off my waist size.While I still moan on "leg days", I'm pretty sure that I won't be that senior in the t.v. ad who says "Help!  I've fallen, and I can't get up!"Add all of this to the fact that Jarrett is very flexible with my schedule, is extremely punctual and professional and makes the training fun, and I can easily say that I am a very satisfied client!

Where should I start?! Jarrett is not only an amazing and kind person but also has an incredible amount of knowledge about fitness and health. I started a program with Ola Fitness to increase my endurance and strength for surfing and to lean out more. I could already see results within a few weeks after training - not only a decrease in weight and body fat but more importantly - an increase in energy. I FEEL amazing! Highly recommend!
